Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a vibrant and joyous Hindu festival celebrated in India and Nepal. It marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil.
Holi is often referred to as “Phaguwa” or “Fagua” in the local Bhojpuri language.
The festival begins with Holika Dahan, a bonfire symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The next day, Dhulendi, is marked by colorful celebrations where people playfully smear each other with vibrant powders and water. Traditional delicacies like malpua, gujiya, and thandai are enjoyed, while folk dances, songs, and music add to the festive atmosphere.
